What is Help U Store It?

Help U Store It is an affordable full service moving and student storage company founded by former St. Joseph’s University and Elon Students. We make the process of moving from one location to the next as simple as possible! Registered Students will have their belongings picked-up by the Help U Store It Team, stored for the summer (or desired length), and delivered to their new address when they return to campus! All a Student has to do is pack the boxes that Help U Store It provides.

How Big are the Provided Boxes?

Help U Store It provides extra large boxes. The Extra Large Box measures 24 x 18 x 18. For visual reference, an Extra Large Box can will roughly fit a queen size comforter, 2 pillows and bed sheets. Trust us, the boxes are big!

What makes Help U Store It Different?

Help U Store It is LOCAL and the ONLY summer storage service that offers FREE in room pick-up.  This means we will come directly to your dorm room to get your items.  Other services require you to bring your boxes and items to a meeting place.  Our service is truly the easiest hassle free service available! We are also local, but with wide reach. Each owner of the company lives within 20 miles of every school we service! (Yes, including North Carolina) We also employee students from every university we service, our way of trying to help the local communities with jobs. 

What are my Storage Options?

Help U Store It offers Students Summer Long Storage a choice of 1 of 2 all-inclusive packages. The All-inclusive packages provide Students with the most cost-effective storage solution for Summer Long Storage. The MVP (5 box) and VIP (3 Box) package include boxes, packing tape, and packing wrap at a discount from the pay per item option.  Any items that do not fit in a box have a separate added price.  All options include pick-up, secure storage, delivery, and insurance.

What does the price include?

All-inclusive packages include Boxes, Packing materials (Tape and Wrap), insurance (up to$100), pick-up and delivery (within P/U and Delivery windows).

When will I receive my boxes and packing materials?

You will receive an e-mail from Help U Store It about 2 weeks before your move-out date which will indicate a drop off date and time. You will have your packing materials at least 2 days prior to your desired pick-up date. Most students receive their boxes about 1 week prior to moving out! 

I currently live Off-Campus; Can I still use Help U Store It?

Yes! We will pick-up and Store your belonging no matter where you live in Philadelphia. We will also pick-up from an on campus location and deliver to an off campus location after summer! Additional fees will apply. 

Will my belongings be insured?

Yes! All personal property will come with insurance at no additional cost to you. Help U Store It insures personal property from the time of pick-up to the time of delivery. Insurance is included up to 100$ per box or oversized item, however additional insurance may be purchased at the time of sign-up. Additional value may not exceed $500 per box or $2000 in aggregate.

Ordering

Can I add to my order after it is placed?

Definitely! You can add to your order by e-mailing info@helpustoreit.com.

Can I change my Pick-up and/or Delivery Date and Time?

Yes, you may make changes up to 5 days prior to your scheduled pick-up or delivery. Please remember that Dates and times will only remain available until they fill up, so it is best to choose the correct date from the start. If you change a pick-up or delivery to outside of the Pick-up and delivery window, you will be charged an additional fee. Please e-mail info@helpustoreit.com to change your pick-up or delivery date.

What if I do not use all of the boxes I ordered?

Help U Store It will offer a refund to the method of payment for your order for any boxes you did not use. The refund will be equal to the difference of original payment vs new total. 

What forms of payment Can I use?

Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, AMEX,  credit cards are accepted. You can also pay through PayPal.  

When am I charged for my order?

You will be charged for your order during the sign-up process. If additional items need to be added to an existing order, the customer must re-enter a credit card number.

What if I order too much or not enough items?

We will refund your credit card for any items you do not store with us! So don’t worry about over ordering.  If you have extra items at the time of pick-up, we will simply square up then.

Can I cancel my order?

Sure, we accept cancellations with full refunds, up to 7 days prior to your pick-up date. After that, we charge a $100 cancellation fee. 

What if I do not know where I am living next semester?

Not a problem at all! Just indicate this when you sign-up!

Pick-up and Packing

What Do Pick-up and Delivery Windows mean?

Help U Store It offers FREE pick-up and FREE delivery for a window period of 3 days. The FREE Pick-up window usually falls on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the last semester before summer. The FREE Delivery Window usually falls on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday before the fall semester. Pick-up or Delivery requested outside of these dates will inquire an “out of window” surcharge.

What time will you come to pick up my stuff?

You will receive an e-mail and/or text message from Help U Store It to let you know what time slot you are scheduled for on your pick up date.  While we do our best to accommodate the time you choose in your order, we are not able to guarantee our arrival time. All pick-up times will be slotted with 2-hour time windows. 

Is there a special way to pack my boxes?

When your boxes are delivered, your will receive a document with details on best packing practices.

How do you know which boxes are mine? What about my oversized items?

When your boxes are delivered, you will also receive box labels. These box labels should be placed on every belonging you plan to store with Help U Store It.

How much can I put in my boxes?

As much as you can fit! However, the weight should not exceed the maximum of 50lbs. A 50% surcharge may be added for any box weighing over this amount. Pro Tip: don’t put all your books in the same box, spread them around!

What if I won’t be able to be there during my pick-up or delivery time?

If no times fit your schedule you may authorize another person to assist with the pick-up or accept receipt of your items. You must notify Help U Store It in advance at info@helpustoreit.com

Will Help U Store It Pick-up and deliver my boxes in my room?

YES! However, if you want to bring them to your dorm lobby to speed up the pick-up process, we won’t complain!

 

Storage

Where Will my items be stored?

Our warehouse is in a friendly neighborhood, and has been family owned for over 37 years! It is a secured, climate-controlled facility. Unfortunately though, for the protection of your items and others, we cannot provide you with the exact address of our warehouse.

What can I NOT Store with Help U Store It?

We will not accept any items that are perishable, hazardous materials, explosives, firearms, flammable items, cash, high-value items inclusive of jewelry, liquids, or food.

Can I change my delivery date?

You can email us at info@helpustoreit.com and change your delivery date at any time with 1 week notice. However, you may be charged an early retrieval fee if your new delivery date is not within the delivery window to help cover our expenses.

What happens if an Oversized Item I need storage for is not on the Oversized list??

 No worries! We store a lot more items than are listed in our website. Just give us a call at 855-478-7663 or write to us about the item at info@helpustoreit, and we will help you out with the pricing and storage part. 

Delivery

Do I have to be present when my boxes are delivered?

You may authorize another person to accept your belongings. Please e-mail info@helpustoreit.com or call us at 855-478-7663 in advance.

Can you deliver my items earlier than the beginning of fall semester?

Yes! We can deliver at any time, However, you will be charged a small fee for delivery not within our delivery windows. Our free delivery windows are in accordance with your schools’ posted dates. We will not know the specific “free move in dates” until mid-summer, as most schools do not publish this information until summer.  Nevertheless, you can trust that your delivery will be free if you move back at the typical time period.

Where will you deliver for Free?

We will deliver to any residence Hall on Campus for Free during our delivery windows. Local off campus houses are subject to a $25 surcharge, however this is discretionary depending on the proximity from the residence halls.
